Mr. C. Blue Bagwell, age 85, passed away on March 19, 2026. Born August 13, 1940 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, he was the son of John Daniel Bagwell and Julia Morcock Bagwell. He was a sixth generation Gwinnettian, was in the first graduating class of Central Gwinnett High School, and a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He married Paula Cannon, of Snellville, in 1964 and they had three children: Jeff, John, and Julie.
As a teenager, Blue worked at Monfort Drug Company, Inc. on the courthouse square in Lawrenceville, and after college, he worked for Lockheed in Marietta, GA. He later joined, as a partner, at Hannon, Meeks, & Bagwell, Surveyors & Engineers, Inc. in Lawrenceville.
In addition to his parents, Blue was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Paula; brothers, Dan, and Charles Bagwell. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ballard (Lawrenceville, GA); children, Jeffrey Blue Bagwell (Charleston, SC), John Daniel Bagwell III (Smyrna, GA), and Julie Bagwell/Russ Hancock (Dawsonville, GA); 5 grandchildren, Zachary Blue Bagwell and wife Kayleigh (Dublin, OH), Creedence Bagwell Rossi and husband Matt (Atlanta, GA), Leon Miles Bagwell (Atlanta, GA), Floyd Forrest Bagwell (Charleston, SC), and Francis Cullen Bagwell (Charleston, SC); 4 great grandchildren, Bennett Blue Bagwell, Briggs Blue Bagwell, Sloane Winter Rossi, and Leon Albert Rossi; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The Service to Honor and Remember the Life of Blue Bagwell will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11:30 A.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Dr. Adam Hilderbrandt officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 23rd from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, March 24th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
