ATLANTA - Janie Margreth Oetgen Rogers, 85, died Aug. 22 at Crawford Long Hospital.

The native of Atlanta was the daughter of Savannahians and was the widow of Herman M. Rogers.

SURVIVORS: a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kathy and J. Frank Smith; a sister-in-law, Mary B. Oetgen; a nephew, John D. Oetgen; two grandchildren, John Frank Smith III and his wife, Karen, and Scott Smith and his wife, Joni; and five great-grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Atlanta.

     Ruby Nell Mann was born on 28 December 1939. As of 24 January 1959,her married name was Bagwell. She married Herman Mitchell Bagwell, son of Doyle Turner Bagwell and Virgie Marie Burdine, on 24 January 1959 at Winona, Mississippi. Ruby Nell Mann died on 24 December 2020 in Winona Manor, Winona, Montgomery County, Mississippi, at age 80.

     Britt Ware Burch was born on 21 April 1898 in Seal, Russell County, Alabama. He married Edna Margaret Oetgen, daughter of Edgar Ostendorff Oetgen and Gracie Creech, in April 1930 at St. Lukes' Episcopal Church, Atlanta, Georgia.¹ Britt Ware Burch died on 14 September 1956 at age 58. He was buried at Seale United Methodist Church Cemetery, Seale, Russell County, Alabama.

     Edgar Willis Styron was born on 20 August 1884 in North Carolina. He married Gracie Creech before 1930.

     Mary Sheehan was born on 20 November 1917. As of after 1935,her married name was Oetgen. She married Sergeant William John Oetgen, son of Herman Glenn Oetgen and Helen McCormick, after 1935. Mary Sheehan died on 18 July 2006 in Kesington, Montgomery County, Maryland, at age 88. She was buried at Catholic Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.

Judson Bagwell and Ella Mae McClung.¹ Beulah Kathryn Bagwell died on 10 June 1957 in Richland County, South Carolina, she was a traveling salesperson and was shot and killed.¹ She was buried at Mount Airy Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Jeanette Evelyn Johns was buried at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, Bel County, Kentucky. She was born on 12 August 1925 in New Jersey. As of 14 December 1944,her married name was Bagwell. She married Walter Raymond Bagwell, son of Thurman Selmer Bagwell and Alpha Omega Burgess, on 14 December 1944 at Detriot, Wayne County, Michigan. Jeanette Evelyn Johns died on 9 December 1983 in Detriot, Wayne County, Michigan, at age 58.

     Joanne E. Bagwell was born on 11 February 1953 in Detriot, Wayne County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Walter Raymond Bagwell and Jeanette Evelyn Johns. As of after 1971,her married name was Wick. Joanne E. Bagwell married (?) Wick after 1971. Joanne E. Bagwell died on 25 January 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Monroe, Michigan, at age 58

Born February 11, 1953 in Detroit, MI, Joanne was the daughter of Walter and Jeanette (Johns) Bagwell. Joanne attended Detroit Public Schools. Joanne resided in California for 20 years until moving to Monroe to live with her sister Linda a year ago. Joanne worked as a sales clerk for various stores while living in California.
Joanne attended both Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and Heritage Baptist Church. Joanne was a very artistic person who loved singing, drawing and nature. She especially enjoyed and was at peace tending to her herb garden.
Joanne is survived by her Parents; Walter and Sandra Bagwell of Taylor, MI, 2 loving brothers; Anthony Trejo of Woodhaven, MI and Thomas (Svetlana) Keller of Auburn Hills, MI, 7 loving sisters; Carol (Thomas) Carouvich of Sterling Heights, MI, Janet (Richard) Schiller of Hartland, MI, Linda (John “Jay”) Willis of Monroe, Cynthia (John) Chrysler of Millington, MI, Marcia (Tracy) Fressel of Allen Park, MI, Yolanda (Charles) Jarvis of Grand Haven, MI, and Christina (Jerry) Hendrickson of Ecorse, MI and many adored nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Joanne was preceded in death by her mother, 2 sons: John Paul Lathrup and George P. Lathrup – Chait – Kates and a brother Rudy Trejo.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.
