GREENVILLE, SC - Helen Bagwell Allen, 85, formerly of 1 Templewood Drive, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2007.

Born in Easley, Mrs. Allen was the widow of Joe R. Allen and the daughter of the late Giles Leon and Lucia Mae Capps Bagwell. She was retired from Her Majesty, where she was employed for 42 years. She was a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Madden of Fountain Inn; a grandson, Joey Page of Fountain Inn; a great-granddaughter, Tara E. Holmes and her companion, Richard Baker of Spartanburg; two great-great-grandchildren, Logan Taylor Tay and Madison McKinley Baker; two sisters, Lucille B. Smith of Greenville, and Juanita Lawson of Dacusville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007, in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation prior to the service from noon until 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.

     Willie Earle Reese was born on 14 April 1918 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina. He married Dorothy Lucille Bagwell, daughter of Jiles Leon Bagwell and Lucia Mae Capps, on 15 July 1939 at Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina. Willie Earle Reese died on 24 September 1988 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 70.

     Mary Wade was born on 2 April 1900. As of after 1965,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jiles Leon Bagwell, son of Calvin David Bagwell and Etta L. Hopkins, after 1965. Mary Wade died on 1 March 2000 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 99. She was buried on 3 March 2000 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

     Nicholas Sperin was born in 1795.¹ He married Elizabeth Gilbert after 1810.¹ Nicholas Sperin died on 28 March 1888.¹

     Elizabeth Gilbert was born on 26 April 1803.¹ She married Nicholas Sperin after 1810.¹ As of after 1810,her married name was Sperin.¹ Elizabeth Gilbert died on 24 August 1894 at age 91.¹

     William Nicholas Sperin was born on 4 October 1845.¹ He was the son of Nicholas Sperin and Elizabeth Gilbert.¹ William Nicholas Sperin married Nancy Elizabeth Bagwell, daughter of William Wilkes Bagwell and Cinthia A. Tracy, on 16 October 1866.¹ William Nicholas Sperin died on 10 July 1921 at age 75.¹

     Willie Ray Bagwell was born on 18 November 1914. She was the daughter of James Doyle Bagwell and Ina Audrey Massey. Willie Ray Bagwell died circa February 1915.

     John Edgar Bagwell was born on 10 April 1916 in Sarepta, Mississippi.² He was the son of James Doyle Bagwell and Ina Audrey Massey.¹ He served as a Technical Sergent in the US Army during World War II.² John Edgar Bagwell married Elizabeth Boydston on 22 November 1950 at Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi. John Edgar Bagwell died on 5 November 2005 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at age 89

BRUCE - John E. Bagwell, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He taught school from 1948 to 1978 and was Superintendent of Education for Fayette County Schools in Summerville, Tenn., from 1968 to 1978. He was a graduate of Lambert High School, attended Northwest Community College then received his master's degree from Mississippi State University. He was a lifetime amateur radio operator and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Cobb, the Rev. Joey Hamilton and the Rev. Jim Pinkerton officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Boydstun Bagwell of Bruce, whom he married Nov. 22, 1950; one son, James Bagwell and wife, Domi, of Memphis; two daughters, Mary Hunsucker and husband, Andy, of Summerville, Tenn., and Ruth Murray and husband, Thomas, of Bartlett, Tenn; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ina Massey and James Doyle Bagwell.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hunsucker, Adam Hunsucker, Chadwick Carwile, Daniel Murray, Andrew Bagwell and Benjamin Bagwell.²

He was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi.²

     Elizabeth Boydston was born on 19 May 1921 in Fearn Springs, Winston County, Mississippi. As of 22 November 1950,her married name was Bagwell. She married John Edgar Bagwell, son of James Doyle Bagwell and Ina Audrey Massey, on 22 November 1950 at Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi. Elizabeth Boydston died on 21 December 2016 in Calhoun City, Calhoun County, Mississippi, at age 95 Elizabeth Bagwell, 95 died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Baptist Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City, Mississippi.

Born Thursday, May 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John Hunt Boydston and the late Lena May Boydston. She was the wife of the late John Edgar Bagwell. Graduate of Blue Mountain and Mississippi State University. Retired school teacher, taught 2nd grade for many years and substitute taught til 1978. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Surviving are son, James Howard Bagwell of Kyle, TX, daughters, Mary Helen (Andy) Hunsucker of Oakland, TN and Ruth
Ann (Thomas) Murry of Sardis, MS, sister, Agnes Worrell of Grenada, MS. Fourteen Grandchildren, and Host of Great
Grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son, John Allen Bagwell, brothers, Homer Boydston and Lamar Boydeton, sisters, Evelyn Stout,
Lillian Dillworth and Ruth Vonkon.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Bro. Wayne Cobb and Bro. Joey
Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, MS.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Bruce, Mississippi. She was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi.

     John Alan Bagwell was born on 17 November 1953 in Waycross, Georgia.^1,2 He was the son of John Edgar Bagwell and Elizabeth Boydston.¹ He was a MSGT in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enlisted in 14 Jul 1971 and was honorably discharged in 26 Oct 1981.² John Alan Bagwell died on 11 January 1995 at age 41.^1,2 He was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi.²

     James Howard Bagwell is the son of John Edgar Bagwell and Elizabeth Boydston.¹ James Howard Bagwell married Mary Agnes Maher on 23 June 1979 at Fayette County, Tennessee.¹ James Howard Bagwell married Domitila Ramos on 15 February 2002.¹

     Mary Helen Bagwell is the daughter of John Edgar Bagwell and Elizabeth Boydston. Mary Helen Bagwell married Douglas Andrew Hunsucker in January 1978.¹

     Jennifer Leigh Bagwell is the daughter of John Alan Bagwell.¹

     Sarah Rose Bagwell is the daughter of John Alan Bagwell.

     Jennifer Lynn Bagwell is the daughter of James Howard Bagwell and Mary Agnes Maher.¹
