     J. Judson Bagwell was also known as Judson Bagwell. He was born on 26 April 1896 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ He served as a Private in the 118th Field Artillery, 31st Division, United States Army during World War I.² J. Judson Bagwell married Ella Mae McClung on 5 October 1917 at Bibb County, Georgia. J. Judson Bagwell died on 29 May 1952 in Verteran's Hospital, Oteen, North Carolina, at age 56.^1,2 He was buried at Mount Airy Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.²

     Jessie Maybelle Bagwell also went by the name of May. She was born on 26 April 1896 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ As of 5 November 1916,her married name was Traynham. Jessie Maybelle Bagwell married Robert Franklin Traynham on 5 November 1916 at Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina. Jessie Maybelle Bagwell died on 6 July 1982 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 86.¹ She was buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina.

     Gradie Bagwell was born on 25 June 1899 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ Gradie Bagwell died on 6 June 1900.^1,2 He was buried at Mount Airy Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.²

     Dicy Dessoree Bagwell was born on 21 June 1901 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ As of after 1917,her married name was Kay. Dicy Dessoree Bagwell married Robert Herman Kay after 1917. Dicy Dessoree Bagwell died on 13 January 1975 at age 73.¹ She was buried at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.

     Vivian Bagwell was born in 1910 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ As of after 1920,her married name was Tripp. Vivian Bagwell married Grady Ellis Tripp after 1920.² Vivian Bagwell died in 1976.¹ She was buried at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.

     Bernice Bagwell was born on 28 February 1910 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.¹ As of after 1920,her married name was LaBoone.² Bernice Bagwell married Jack W. LaBoone after 1920.² Bernice Bagwell died on 15 November 1963 at age 53.^1,2 She was buried at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.²

     Earl Jackson Bagwell was born on 3 April 1914 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy.^1,3 Earl Jackson Bagwell married Mary Bernice Roper after 1930.¹ Earl Jackson Bagwell died on 2 January 1969 at age 54.^1,2 He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.²

     Mary Bernice Roper was also known as Bernice Roper.² She was born on 17 January 1917 in Powderville, Anderson County, South Carolina.^1,2 She married Earl Jackson Bagwell, son of William Lewis Bagwell and Nancy ("Nannie") Murphy, after 1930.¹ Mary Bernice Roper died on 26 August 1987 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 70.^1,2 She was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.²

     Curtis Elliott Bagwell was born on 16 May 1936 in Easley, South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of Earl Jackson Bagwell and Mary Bernice Roper.^1,2 Curtis Elliott Bagwell married Jimmie Cox Davis on 19 July 1958 at Easley County, South Carolina. Curtis Elliott Bagwell lived in 2012 in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.² He died on 10 August 2022 at age 86


Curtis Elliot Bagwell, 86, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Earl and Bernice Bagwell. He graduated from Easley High School Class of 1954 and attended Clemson University. After college, he worked at Thompson Dental Company until he joined Patterson Dental Company, where he served as general manager for the state of South Carolina until his retirement. After over 50 years in the dental industry, he continued to work with dentists throughout the upstate on a volunteer basis to assist with dental practice establishment, assessments, and management.
He received the Presidential Citation from the South Carolina Dental Association in 2006 in recognition of his mentorship and hard work on behalf of dentists throughout the state and regions of Georgia and North Carolina.
Mr. Bagwell served his country as a United States Army Reserves member. He was a life member of The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina and a member of Hejaz Shrine. He was also a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Garden City Beach, Rocky Bottom, and of course, rooting for the Clemson Tigers as a long-time member of IPTAY. Curtis loved college football, antique cars, and sharing stories about family history.
Mr. Bagwell is predeceased by his loving wife, Jimmie Davis Bagwell, and his younger brother, Dr. Benson Bagwell. He is survived by sons Curtis Scott Bagwell and wife, Paula; Dr. James Keith Bagwell and wife, Amy; and a daughter, Lisa Leigh Osborn and husband, Marty; seven grandchildren, Curt Bagwell and wife, Meg, Ashley Alderson and husband, Ryan, Jessica Bagwell, Jamie Osborn, Dr. Davis Osborn, Emmeline Bagwell, and Sarah Bagwell; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bagwell; nephew, Elliot, and niece, Eliza; brother-in-law, Charles Davis; and cousins and other extended family members.
The family wishes to thank Caris Hospice and caregivers Bobbie and Elaine for providing support to Curtis.

     Dr. Benson Lewis Bagwell D.D.S. was born on 16 January 1947 in South Carolina His marriage license states his date of birth is January 19, 1944.¹ He was the son of Earl Jackson Bagwell and Mary Bernice Roper.¹ Dr. Benson Lewis Bagwell D.D.S. married Mary Ann Webb Stender on 5 December 1974 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina. Dr. Benson Lewis Bagwell D.D.S. lived in 2012 in Clemson, Pickens County, South Carolina.² He died on 1 October 2013 in Clemson, South Carolina, at age 66
Dr. Benson Lewis Bagwell, DMD, of Clemson, SC died Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

Born in Easley, SC, he was a son of the late Earl Jackson and Mary Bernice Roper Bagwell. Dr. Bagwell grew up in Easley where he attended Eastside Grammar School and graduated from Easley High School. He was a 1966 graduate of Clemson University where he was a member of the Numeral Society. Upon graduation he entered the US Army and served as an Executive Officer for a helicopter rescue unit in Viet Nam. He taught high school for two years before entering and graduating from the MUSC Dental School in 1974. He moved to Clemson where he practiced dentistry for 39 years. He was very involved in the Clemson community and provided dental service not only through his regular practice but provided dental service to both needy children and adults in the Pickens County area.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Bagwell of the home; a son, Benson Elliott Bagwell of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Eliza Kirk Bagwell of Clemson; brother, Curtis Elliott Bagwell of Simpsonville, SC; and uncles James Jeter and Houston Roper both of Powdersville, SC.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson with Reverend John Neiman officiating.

A private internment will be held prior to the service.
